The Florida Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) was founded in May 2005 by a group of local Directors to create a forum for board members and senior executives to share their experiences and ideas. We are committed to delivering educational and networking value through hosting breakfast events or mid-afternoon events as well as special workshops throughout the year that address the economic, legal, regulatory and governance issues that impact board member responsibilities.
Our mission is to enhance director effectiveness by providing a forum in which educational content converges with peer interaction. We encourage professional excellence and self-improvement in the boardroom. Members share a commitment to conscientious governance and a quest for excellence in the organizations they serve.

NACD's Initiative to Restore Public and Investor Confidence
The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) believes corporate boards must lead the charge in improving board performance and corporate oversight by strengthening governance practices in boardrooms across the country. NACD's initiative challenges boards and their directors to make a voluntary commitment to restoring public and investor confidence in corporate America by adopting the NACD Key Agreed Principles as a framework for governance and to share their progress. Boards that choose to complete the challenge will be recognized for their leadership role with a Seal of Excellence.
The Key Agreed Principles to Strengthen Corporate Governance for U.S. Publicly Traded Companies, proffered by the NACD, are a new set of principles intended to guide corporate leaders and are the cumulative effort of many organizations and individuals to find a truly shared set of ideas to improve the internal functioning of America's boardrooms.
